This is really very beautiful. I’ve been there in front of that, but I had not realized the potential of this scene, in purpose of photography. Poetry can be found everywhere and in everything, but you must to be able to recognize it.

I was very careful when the Cicerone has explained the meaning of those plates. It struck me that the SCRATCHED NUMBERS did not always denote men who had stopped mining job for personal reasons, but they often corresponded to MEN died because of this dangerous job. MINER’S LIFE WASN’T WORTH A NEW PLATE! Two scratches to delete A NUMBER and away with another NUMBER…a man…only a number…
